How to Bid in Ge'eza's Online Auctions: A Checklist
Free registration, verified identity, personal code, bid increment, a two-minute extension, a payment link: the checklist for bidding in Ge'eza's gallery online auctions. No sale is currently open.

To bid in one of Ge'eza's online auctions, first register for free (name, phone, email, country), wait for the team to verify your identity, receive a personal access code by email or WhatsApp, then, on sale day, beat each bid by at least the stated increment. A bid placed in the last two minutes extends the sale by two minutes, and the winner receives an online payment link. No sale is currently open.
Before the sale: register and prepare
Register for free. Go to the auctions page and enter your name, phone, email and country.
Wait for verification. The team checks every participant's identity before allowing bids. This step protects both sellers and buyers.
Get your personal code. Once your identity is confirmed, an access code is sent to you by email or WhatsApp. It validates every bid you place and should not be shared.
Look at the piece if you can. A photograph never fully captures a canvas's size, texture and light. If you are in Dakar, visit the gallery before the sale.
Ask your questions in advance. Dimensions, technique, condition, shipping terms: it is best to clarify these before the sale starts.
Set a ceiling. Decide the maximum you are willing to spend, and hold to it once bidding begins.
During the sale: bidding
Note the bid increment. Each work is listed with a starting price, a bid increment and a duration. The increment is the minimum amount by which your bid must beat the previous one.
Confirm with your code. Every bid is validated with the personal code you received at registration. It then appears in a public, timestamped history visible to all participants.
Watch the final two minutes. A bid placed in that window automatically extends the sale by two minutes. The sale only ends once two minutes pass with no new bid, so stay alert until the end if you plan to bid again.
After the sale: pay and collect the work
Receive the payment link. If you win, an online payment link is sent to you. The work stays reserved in your name until payment.
Choose how it reaches you. Once paid, the work is handed over at Point E, or shipped outside Dakar on request.
Keep the certificate. As with every work sold at Ge'eza, it leaves with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist. For more on this document, see the certificate of authenticity.
