Ge’eza means “home”.
From the Ge’ez word for “home”, Ge’eza is a cultural hub rooted in Dakar, dedicated to dialogue between Ethiopian and Senegalese civilisations.
Our story
A bridge between two Africas.
Ge’eza was born from a simple conviction: East and West Africa have a lot to say to each other, and a table is the best place to start. In a bright villa in Point E, Maraki Germa Bekele gathered what makes a home: a kitchen, a lounge where artworks hang, a terrace under the trees, and the time of the coffee ceremony.
The restaurant serves authentic Ethiopian cuisine made with produce sourced in Dakar. The gallery welcomes artists from East Africa, West Africa and the diaspora. The concept store celebrates African craftsmanship. Events, exhibitions, brunches, tastings and markets keep the house alive through the seasons.

Sourcing
Two women-led farms.
Our meat comes from Gourméa, our vegetables from Growing Life Farm, two women-led farms in Dakar. Everything is sourced locally and prepared following traditional Ethiopian recipes, with kibbeh, our herb-infused clarified butter.
