Empreinte: Barefoot to Glory

In 1960, Abebe Bikila ran barefoot through the streets of Rome and into history. Today, as Africa hosts its first Olympic Games, Ge'eza honours the Ethiopian champions who made the world's tracks and roads a stage for African greatness.

Beside them stands Amadou Dia Ba, whose silver in Seoul in 1988 remains Senegal's only Olympic medal. Ethiopia and Senegal, side by side: this is what Ge'eza was built for. Now the baton passes to the young athletes of Dakar 2026.
